Oracle invested $10 million to sustain Nashville Symphony
Oracle invested $10 million in a strategic partnership to sustain the Nashville Symphony. The support allowed the orchestra to reinstate its 2026-27 season and recall furloughed musicians and staff.
What happened
Oracle announced that it was investing $10 million and creating a strategic partnership, meaning long-term cooperation, to help sustain the Nashville Symphony. According to the company, it announced a $10 Million Partnership with the Nashville Symphony. Oracle's support helped the Nashville Symphony address its immediate financial needs and move forward with its 2026-27 season.
The investment allowed the orchestra to reinstate its 2026-27 season and recall furloughed musicians and staff, meaning employees temporarily laid off. The partnership enabled the Symphony to reinstate the 2026-27 season along with its full-time staff members and all members of the orchestra who were to be furloughed on Oct. 18 due to a financial emergency.
Support kept players together and covered urgent needs
Mark Tillinger, president and CEO, Nashville Symphony, said: "Oracle's commitment is a lifeline for the Nashville Symphony and the community we serve." He said Oracle's partnership gives the Symphony the ability to bring its musicians and music back to the stage. Clay Magouyrk, CEO, Oracle, said: "Nashville is a city that understands how music can bring people together."
For the Symphony, the practical effect was continuity. Keeping the same musicians and staff together preserved rehearsals, programs and community work without a break. For Oracle, the partnership connected its name to a civic institution with a broad local audience. That made the funding relevant for planning staff, concerts and outreach.
