SAP highlights Reinhausen case as demand grows 20% a year
SAP presented expanded Joule assistants and agents for supply chain management. It pointed to Reinhausen, where demand for products grew at 20% a year.
What happened
SAP presented the news at SAP Connect in 2026: Advancing the Autonomous Enterprise. The announcement was titled SAP Expands Joule Assistants and Agents to Advance Autonomous Supply Chain Management.
Reinhausen joined SAP's early adopter program for Joule Work, a desktop assistant that takes questions in everyday language. What once required up to an hour of manual effort across the SAP S/4HANA environment, the central business software, was accessible in seconds through natural language. According to the company, all SAP customers would enjoy the benefits of Joule Work when it rolled out later this month.
Shortage of time made faster supply decisions matter
Supply chain teams never lacked decisions to make. What they increasingly lacked was time.
That lack of time explained why faster access to information mattered for daily work. When manual searching across systems took less effort, staff could spend attention on choices rather than on gathering data. For investors, the point was operational: tools that reduced routine work touched staffing pressure and process costs.
Long industrial history met rapidly rising product demand
Reinhausen had been innovating for over 100 years. Demand for Reinhausen products grew at 20% a year. That mix of a long history and strong recent demand formed the background to the case SAP described.
Reinhausen joined SAP's early adopter program for Joule Work. Peter Wied, director of Complexity Management at Reinhausen, said: "The Joule Work desktop early adopter program has delivered more momentum in just a few months than we saw in all the years before". According to the company, the remark described experience during the early adopter period.
