KPN named new finance and technology chiefs and proposed board member
KPN appointed Wouter Stammeijer as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 November, and Vladimir Cibic as Chief Technology Officer, effective 1 November, and nominated Piero Overmars to its Supervisory Board.
What happened
KPN announced changes to its Board of Management, the executives who run the company daily, and its Supervisory Board, the body that oversees management. According to the company, Wouter Stammeijer was appointed Chief Financial Officer, the executive responsible for finance, effective 1 November. Vladimir Cibic was appointed Chief Technology Officer, the executive responsible for technology, effective 1 November.
Cibic was also nominated for appointment to the Board of Management as of the 2027 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Shareholders, the yearly shareholder meeting. Piero Overmars was nominated as a new member of the Supervisory Board. According to the company, these nominations were part of the same board changes.
Leadership changes clarified responsibility for finance and technology
KPN said it simplified its leadership structure, with HR, the personnel function, reporting to the CEO, the chief executive. That placed personnel matters directly under Joost Farwerck, CEO and Chair of the Board of Management. The adjustment was announced together with the finance and technology appointments.
For investors, the statement assigned clear responsibility for finance and technology after the change. It also showed where personnel oversight sat and which bodies would oversee management. That made governance easier to follow without adding information about results.
Formal filing recorded board news as inside information
KPN published the announcement as inside information, meaning price-sensitive company news, under EU MAR art. 17 in the AFM register on 2026-10-01. The filing identified the board changes as formal company disclosure. It provided the official record of the decisions.
Gerard van de Aast, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said: "Over the past few years, Wouter and Vladimir have proven themselves as decisive leaders with a deep understanding of KPN, our customers and our strategy." The statement presented the appointments as a choice for continuity. It gave no additional financial detail.
